2) I got a notice from our town telling me that our property was assessed at nearly double last year's rate. The letter also informs me that I can appeal that assessment. Except, I have no idea why I would want to being as I have no idea WTF the higher assessment means to me.
The town's website is useless in this regard. Completely and utterly useless. So I emailed the tax assessor (who apparently is on "indefinite medical leave") and then the assistant assessor to ask them to explain themselves.
UPDATE: The assessor responded to my email and said that they made a mistake and that my assessment will remain the same as last year. :) SOME good news! Woohoo!3) Jeremíe's multiple therapy visits are costing me a lot of money I really don't have right now ($35 copay each visit times 4 visits in the past 2 weeks and likely to continue for a while).
4) Because of what you will read in #1 above I have to go with paying that shit off ASAP. Hopefully the IRS won't dick me around again on my taxes and I get it when I'm supposed to (next Friday).
5) Jess and I are far from seeing eye to eye for the past week... which... is... stressing.... me.... out...
6) I don't know if I ever blogged about it but the day I went to court on the DoucheBag case some pickup truck with those extended side view mirrors clipped the mirror in my car. Of course his insurance wouldn't pay for it... so I have to pay for it on my own. For over a month I've been driving with no driver's sideview mirror and that makes me anxious on the roads.
Finally getting that taken care of on Saturday.
7) Classes start on Saturday and I have a bazillion balls in the air and I'm already afraid I can't hack it.
I'm just tired of everything right now. Really... I just need shit to come to a halt like yesterday.

First, take a breath. This too shall pass.
Second, sending lots of love and light as you work through these issues. Be gentle with yourself, with your family, your partner...you're one of the strongest women I know in the blogosphere land - I'm thinking the best thoughts I can for you.
You are a very strong woman and I hope all of this junk will get out of your way soon.
Take care of yourself...hugs.
Hi! I barely know you, so sorry for the random comment, but re: #2 it means your property tax will be higher to reflect the higher value of your property. I'd get that reassessed if I were you. :( Best wishes with the rest!

Geez, life is like this. It starts with a snowflake and end with an avalanche sometimes. I'm sorry you're going through so much. Don't retreat too much ... you have people who care and want the best for you. Hang in there!
Echoing the comments already stated.
Peace to you.
If your town is moving to a full value assessment, it may mean nothing to you. For example, if your house is worth 100k on the market but has only been assessed at 50k with a tax rate of $10 per thousand, you pay $5,000 in taxes. If they go to full value and assess your house at 100k and the tax rate drops to $5 per thousand and your taxes will be the same. The bottom line is how much tax you have to pay. If it is going up significantly you should definitely fight it. Keep in mind that there is an official process do to that and it has a dealine every year. Many towns have moved to full value assessments becuase it is easier to compare apples to apples. Also towns are required (at least in NY) to do a re-evaluation every 4 years to make sure everyone is paying equally accoding to their proerty value.
Okay that was probably too long and boring for a comment.
Sending {{{hugs}}} and an email on the other stuff.
Take care of yourself. Too much stress is not good.
Hang in there. :-)
I'm late reading this....to busy on FARMVILLE!! ROL Seriously, just take a deep breath and don't smoke. lol As for the assessment. The only thing it will effect is how much your property taxes are and also the resale value of your home.
